Overview
The Palo Alto Networks PA-4000 Series is ideally suite for high speed internet gateway facing deployments in large enterprises or datacenter environments.
Palo Alto Networks’ PS-4000 Series next-generation firewalls enable enterprises to see and control applications, users, and content – not just ports, IP addresses, and packets – using three unique identification technologies: App-ID, User-ID, and Content-ID. These identification technologies enable enterprises to create business-relevant security policies – safely enabling organizations to adopt new applications, instead of the traditional “all-or-nothing” approach offered by traditional port-blocking firewalls.
Application Visibility and Control
Identify and control all the applications traversing your network. Define who is using these applications, not just by IP address but by user name and then set granular policy's to control usage
Integrated high-density IPS
SANs Institute states that 80% of the threats that IT managers are concerned about are application level threats. By reducing the number unwanted applications on your network you will by definition reduce your attack surface. Palo Alto Networks high-performance single-pass hardware architecture inspects the traffic stream as it passes through the device insuring low-latency. The Palo Alto Networks device blocks bad traffic, scans good traffic for a wide variety of exploits, viruses, spyware as well as data leaks. Cost savings is realized via the high-density interface design.
Scalable Performance
Palo Alto Networks utilizes a Purpose-Built Parallel Processor hardware architecture that separates Data Plane and Control Plane. All inspection on the packets is done only once as it streams through the device, ensuring low-latency and high performance.
High Availability
Palo Alto Networks devices support redundant 400W Power supplies and (2) Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for high availability via active or passive configurations. Includes configuration and session sync and monitoring.
Network Segmentation
Each Palo Alto Networks device supports up multiple Gigabit or 10 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for network segmentation. Support for VLANs, Virtual Routers allows for flexibility in network configurations.
